This series explores the tender ties that connect us as humans, even when physically separated. Inspired by the Chinese idiom "ou duan si lian" meaning "lotus root breaks, threads remain connected," I visualize the invisible threads of affection and loyalty that run through our most cherished relationships. Though oceans or circumstances may divide us, our hearts remain tethered by intangible bonds. The delicate strands in my photography evoke those gossamer threads, stretched but never broken, linking kindred spirits across any distance. Fragile yet resilient, they symbolize the love that endures hardship, time, and change. We all long for belonging and connection. My aim is to illuminate the beauty of our interconnectedness, and the poetry of attachments that persist across space and time. The filaments in my work become metaphors for the love and mutual understanding that defies severance. However far we travel, we remain joined to those who truly know and cherish us.
