Hanging but Falling
Installation Performance, 2022
Threading pomegranate seeds is an act that manifests the pain against violence. I pierced the pomegranate seeds and threaded them onto a white cotton line. As I threaded, some seeds fell off, and the juice slowly dripped to the floor, bleeding between the fiber of the cotton thread and dying the white color into dark red. Hanging the two ends of the thread onto a wall, the pomegranate “beads” are suspended across the corner of the room and keep bleeding. The installation is taken down after 1 month when most of the pomegranate seeds are dried and felt off the thread.
