赵金琰 Jinyan Zhao, 2000

Jinyan Zhao is an emerging performance artist who works with wearable sculptures and embodied installations. She takes the human body as an ontological starting point to explore the intertwined relationship between the individual and their environment, with a particular focus on the subtle and imperceptible interactions between community members, mundane objects, and specific sites. She attempts to construct an emotional experience of viewer participation through the fusion of different mediums such as installation, photography, and performance. The goal is to provide the viewer with a normative cognition within this aesthetic experience, re-examining the connections between people and things, including our entanglement with the surrounding objects and environment. Her work invites participants to join these provocative, even uncanny journeys, leaving them with a unique aesthetic and emotional experience.
